 Today we did a bell ringer to write a letter to god to prepare us for what we were going to read. This book we found out escalated quickly than we thought. We read 7 letters from the book and that took us till the end of class. After every letter we read we wrote our thoughts on it. To me this book is very interesting and I’m very curious on how the rest of the book is going to go.

 

 Today we did kahoot to see who placed first through third. First place didn’t have to take the test and the other got points. After we did that we took the test. The test was pretty easy because we did the kahoot with the same question’s yesterday. I got a 90 on the test so I’m happy with that.

 Today we did a kahoot on the story we read. Our class was cut short because we were on lockdown. Everyone basically passed the kahoot. I was in the top for most of the kahoot but then at the end I came in fourth. Also I figured out that we have a test tomorrow that is going to be like the kahoot we just did.

 Today we took down some new vocabulary words. Also we did an activity putting the vocabulary in the sentence. Next we took time better understand the story. We answered our questions that we wrote down the previous days. That’s all we did in class.

 Today we finished the reading of the story. Also we finished our papers that we worked on yesterday. We also took a vocabulary quiz today and everyone did good on it. Then we watched a visual representation of the story we read done by some high schoolers. That took us to the end of the class period.

 Today we read the story “The Life You Save May Be Your Own”. Also while reading that we analyzed the story while we read. We identified the main characters, key point and quotes, and learned new vocabulary. Then while we read we came up with questions we could answer about some key points/ events that happened. This took us the whole class period.

 I was not present in class.

 Today we had to go to 4th period as our first period. The whole class period we took the benchmark test. I did not finish the contracted response because I ran out of time. Then today we had a pep rally at the end of the day. Our junior class got the spirit stick and it was fun.

 Today we read a poem called Birches by Robert Frost. The poem was about trying to escape adult hood and going bake to childhood. Next we defined different vocabulary words and determined ways to escape from Earth physically and mentally. We explained the difference between adulthood and childhood and how they are totally different. We referred to childhood as a carefree time in our life and adulthood as a not carefree time with responsibilities.

 Today we annotated the another poem called “I Too”.  We explained the meaning of each stanza and line and wrote it down. Then we wrote down two the two themes of the play and watched a video on the play. Lastly we did an exit ticket to finish out the class.

 Today we did a Bellringer about advice. We had to explain the best advice our mom or any person has given us. Next we read a poem and annotated it. We annotated almost every line the wrote out the two themes. 

 Today we presented our poems. Specifically we presented our Dream poems. This took the whole class period because we used the spinner. Also there is a lot of us in the class. We had to say the title of the poem, theme, and why we wrote it. We will present our other poem next week.

 

 Today Mr. Rease was not at school. Therefore for the class period we were tasked to write two poems. I did half of one poem in class and will do the others when I get home. At the beginning of class we went over different rhetorical devices we could use in our poems.Also we went over the definitions of them. Then we went over the directs and the requirements of our poem.

 Today we watched the film fences. We only watched the important scenes of the movie because the whole movie is about 2 hours long. While we watched the movie we listed 10 events that were different from the film and play. Also I had to write a very brief review of the film for the parts we watched.

 Today in class we finished off the play fences. We found out some shocking news about Troy and it  left us me shocked. After we finished the reading the rest of the class period we answered question about the play. These questions were what was our opinion on certain situations and just getting a better understanding of the play.
